[Dutch Lock Down Day Four Hundred Seventy Four]
When I started to do research for this one, well, I got completely distracted by ALL the movies and songs and albums and references and definitions for the word that I’ll admit that I’m overwhelmed and, well, STRESSED.
This one is a SLIGHT click bait / bait and switch thing as my life coach asked me to write about surrender ala the Serenity Prayer in light of all the stressors going on in my life right now and for those who want the reminder:
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
But first the news:
- Coronavirus cases double in a week, 60% of infections in under-25s
- 6.5 million fully vaccinated against Covid; Hospital total near 10-month low
- Dutch Health Council says mixing AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs is safe
Thus, instead, I’m going to take a deep breath in.
Hold it for a count of five.
And let it out again.
Surrender is not giving up.
Not failure.
Surrender is embracing the unknown.
Letting go.
Acceptance.
Hakuna matata.
No worries for the rest of your days.
Not running away and hiding, but acknowledging that there are things outside of one’s control.
Surrender is figuring out what you CAN control – your reaction to events – when things are happening that you CANNOT control.
I started writing this one yesterday and then this morning the twins, still home sick, asked to watch The Lion King and when Hakuna Matata came on, I just started giggling – the universe is absolutely fascinating sometimes.
