Universal Secret Number Six: Not Just a Vibe
So here’s what I’ve been learning — slowly, stubbornly, and with a lot of “oh, that’s what that means” moments: love isn’t just something you feel.
It’s something you do.
It’s not the butterflies or the playlists or the late-night texts (though those are nice).
It’s the showing up.
The listening when you’re tired.
Choosing someone — or yourself — even when it’s not convenient.
Love is action.
It’s patience when you want to snap.
It’s presence when you’d rather check out.
It’s doing the dishes without being asked.
It’s saying, “I’m sorry,” and meaning it.
It’s boundaries, too — because real love doesn’t mean losing yourself.
Love means including yourself.
And yeah, that includes self-love.
Not the bubble bath kind (though, again, not mad at that), but the hard stuff.
The “I’m going to rest even though my to-do list is screaming.”
The “I’m not going to chase people who make me feel small.”
The “I’m enough, even when I don’t feel like it.”
Love is a verb. And it’s not always loud or poetic. Sometimes it’s just quiet consistency.
But that’s where the magic is.
