Universal Secret Number Three: Nobody Really Knows What They’re Doing
And That’s Okay
You know what’s wild?
The older I get, the more I realize that everyone is just winging it. I used to think there was this magical age where you’d wake up and suddenly know how to do taxes, have a five-year plan, and stop getting nervous before phone calls.
Spoiler alert: that age doesn’t exist.
Adults?
We’re just kids who got taller and now have to schedule our own dentist appointments. We still get overwhelmed. We still second-guess ourselves. We still Google “how to cook rice” even though we’ve done it a hundred times. And honestly?
That’s kind of beautiful.
Impostor syndrome?
Oh, it’s everywhere.
It’s in boardrooms, classrooms, and group chats.
It whispers, “You’re not good enough,” even when you’re crushing it. But here’s the thing: if everyone feels like an impostor, maybe none of us are. Perhaps we’re just human. Maybe the real flex is showing up anyway — nervous, unsure, figuring it out as we go.
No one has it all together.
And the people who look like they do? They’re probably just better at hiding the chaos. We’re all learning. We’re all stumbling.
And that’s okay.
