[OMG OMG OMG]
Today was my first day with Packet, an Equinix Company, and I don’t know if I’m supposed to always call it that, Packet, an Equinix Company, or if I can just call it Packet, but today was exquisite and adventurous and inclusive and beautiful.
And exhausting.
But first the news:
- Amsterdam mayor under fire for not intervening at anti-racism demo
- THOUSANDS ATTEND BLACK LIVES MATTER RALLIES KEEPING PHYSICAL DISTANCE
- Black Lives Matter: Thousands of protesters gather on Dam Square in Amsterdam
It’s really hard to be overjoyed with the new job AND simultaneously devastated.

At one point, I was invited into the women-in-tech room.
I don’t self identify as a woman.
It’s day one.
Do I say something or let it slide?
So I spoke up.
And while it could’ve been handled in any number of ways, not only was the description updated to be, ‘for CIS and Trans Women and Non-Binary Folks’ but it happened within MINUTES of me speaking up.
I literally burst into tears.
It was so inclusive. And welcoming. And beautiful. And FAST.
Yes, AND.
There was SO MUCH knowledge intake and SO MUCH beauty and SO MUCH extrovert action and SO MUCH everything.
So I’m going to bed now.
Cause this is only day ONE.
