Building a successful business requires more than just understanding customer discovery, go-to-market strategies, legal issues, and raising capital.

Successful businesses are built on foundations that enable leaders to turn information into knowledge in order to scale, evolve, and recover.

Kim Crayton is known for her work of coaching tech leaders, in companies and non-profits, for improving profitability and innovation by operationalizing core organizational values and identifying hidden organizational barriers to inclusion. She has spoken at over 50 conferences on these issues, and has worked closely with members and leadership in the Clojure, Node.js, Python, JavaScript and Selenium communities, as well as at organizations like GitHub and Mozilla. Recent engagements have included MailChimp, Sinnerschrader, Ableton, Selenium Open Source Project, Unplug Studios, and Ti.to.

The ability of organizational leaders to successfully create and manage business operations relies heavily on how well they are at developing these necessary processes. When organizational leaders take the time to understand and operationalize their business’s functions, they avoid common barriers to success while being able to recover more quickly from unexpected events, while minimizing any potential harm to the communities they serve and damage to their reputations.

Kim Crayton is a business strategist, antiracist economist, the founder of the #causeascene movement, board chair of We Pivot, proud multipotentialite and future Nobel Prize winner in Economics. She is known for her skills as a problem solver and strategy developer. She possesses a unique ability of being able to see the BIG picture while still managing the details. She also promotes positive organizational and community change in fun and engaging ways.

Whether in the role of strategist, educator, consultant, writer, public speaker, mentor, organizational anthropologist, trainer or curriculum designer, Kim is always in search of innovative approaches that enable individuals, organizations, and communities to intentionally and skillfully create environments which support the sharing of common attitudes, interests, and goals in order to build more innovative and profitable businesses while growing a more inclusive and diverse technology community.
