Dutch Lock Down Day One Hundred Twenty Four

[Stoked to Join OpenDev Hardware Automation and DevRelCon Earth Next Week!]

I am joining not one but TWO events next week because I MUST DO ALL THE THINGS!

But first the news:

I also should probably STOP doing two events in a single week as it means on Tuesday night when I’ve done the second thing I’m going to super CRASH.

And have really wonky dreams.

But I LOVE LOVE LOVE these two events SO MUCH!! !

A kickass colleague (Hi, M!) and I are representing Tinkerbell and Packet and Equinix at OpenDev Hardware Automation this Monday!

OpenDev events bring together the developers and users of the open source software powering today’s infrastructure, to share best practices, identify gaps, and advance the state of the art in open infrastructure. OpenDev events focused on Edge Computing in 2017 and CI/CD in 2018. In 2020, OpenDev is a virtual series of three separate events, each covering a different open infrastructure topic. Participants can expect discussion oriented, collaborative sessions exploring challenges, sharing common architectures, and collaborating around potential solutions.

Event #2: Hardware Automation topics

July 20 – 22, 2020

From hardware acceleration to running applications directly on bare metal, hardware automation enables organizations to save resources and increase productivity. During this OpenDev event, operators will discuss hardware limitations for cloud provisioning, share networking challenges, and collaborate on open source requirements directly with upstream developers.

Topics include:

  • End-to-end hardware provisioning lifecycle for bare metal / cradle to grave for hypervisors
  • Networking
  • Consuming bare metal infrastructure to provision cloud based workloads

Registration for OpenDev Hardware Automation is FREE!

I’m only going on Monday because on TUESDAY I’m joining a kickass collaborator / friend / former colleague (Hi, Other M!) to give our talk The Four Pillars of Developer Relations at DevRelCon Earth!

DevRelCon and DevXcon are an international series of conferences for people who build developer communities and developer experiences.

At each event, we bring together practitioners to share through talks, training and networking. Speakers at our events have included Anil Dash, Jono Bacon, Bear Douglas, James Governor, Dr Sue Black, and other dev rel thought leaders.

Started in London in 2015 by developer relations consultancy Hoopy, there are now editions in London, San Francisco, Tokyo and China.

Covid-19 has changed a lot this year. And it’s changing DevRelCon, too. As we can’t run our usual events in San Francisco, London, or Tokyo, we’re going global with our first online event.

Join us Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 30th for sessions streamed by the DevRelCon London, San Francisco, and Tokyo teams. There’ll also be “corridor track” style opportunities and more. You can register for free and, if you’d like to donate towards the running costs then you can buy a ticket too.

Hope to see you there!
